SPIRIT Receives Communications Solutions™ Magazine's "Product of the Year" Award for 2004

SPIRIT's IP-MR™ (dedicated IP codec) Honored for Outstanding Innovation

SPIRIT announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC®)'s Communications Solutions magazine online (www.tmcnet.com/comsol) has named - IP-MR™ (dedicated IP codec) as a recipient of a 2004 Product of the Year Award.

As standard ITU codecs like G.729 and G.723 become obsolete speaking about IP communication, SPIRIT has developed a dedicated next generation VoIP codec - SPIRIT IP-Multi Rate. Unlike any alternative IP codecs on the market, it delivers really high-quality voice at any rate in the range from 4 to 80kbps. The codec works in both Narrow Band and Wide Band mode and is highly adaptive to network conditions thanks to automatic rate selection. Moreover the codec is transcoding-free in multiparty conferences that saves server resources and ensures high quality.

"SPIRIT is a world-known brand in voice processing field. IP-MR™ is embedded into TeamSpirit® - Multi-Point Voice Engine for enterprise collaboration systems and ensures state-of-the-art speech quality and robustness to packet loss as well as variable bitrate. All this makes TeamSpirit® the ideal solution for enterprise collaboration systems." - says Andrew Sviridenko, SPIRIT's chairman. "The main advantage of TeamSpirit® compared with alternatives is the Multi-Point mode allowing several persons to speak at the same time without any compromise to voice clarity and quality degradation."

"Each year Communications Solutions magazine bestows its Product of the Year awards on companies that have demonstrated excellence in technological advancement and application refinements. SPIRIT has demonstrated to the editors of Communications Solutions that its products or services have gone the extra mile to help improve both the customer experience and the ROI for the companies that use them," said Rich Tehrani, President and Group Publisher of Communications Solutions.

The Product of the Year Award winners for 2004 is published in the April 2005 issue of Communications Solutions magazine online (www.tmcnet.com/comsol).
