USB Phones.
Description
USB Phone device provides a way to turn a regular phone into an IP Phone. In this solution call setup software (H.323 or SIP) can be running on PC, connected to the Internet. Using an active CO-side SLIC chip, this C54CST-based device emulates PSTN to a regular analog phone. TI UART2USB chip provides a way to connect to PC via USB port.

C54CST is used for processing single or multiple channels of voice and telephony signaling (tone detection and generation) traveling between a regular analog phone and PC connected to the Internet.
- Speech coding and decoding (G.726, as well as G.723.1 + G.729AB add-ons)
- Tone detection and generation (UMTD/UMTG)
- Voice activity detection, comfort noise generation (VAD/CNG)
- Packetization / depacketizaion of the voice stream (RTP level add-on)
- Jitter Buffering
- Packet Loss Concealment
