RealDuplex

Overview

Acoustic echo is a common problem for mobile handhelds, conferencing systems and other communication applications where hands-free is a feature. Echo originates in a local audio loop when a microphone picks up an audio signal from speakers. This signal is then sent back to the peer side along with the user voice. Acoustic Echo is an annoying side effect which directly influences voice quality and user satisfaction.

Acoustic Echo Canceller

SPIRIT RealDuplex™, based on Acoustic Echo Cancellation and Noise Cancellation technologies, filters out all noise and echo effects to secure clear voice communication. This solution is aimed to eliminate acoustic echo in real-time communications, speakerphones, phones, etc. The software is G.167-standard complaint and can be embedded in any device, application or a chip.

SPIRIT RealDuplex™ includes the following algorithms:
  • Full-duplex Acoustic Echo canceller to cancel acoustic feedback between loudspeaker and microphone, providing full duplex communication
  • Noise Suppressor to eliminate environment noise as car engine noise, other people speaking, laptop fan, etc
  • AGC&VAD to adjust microphone levels for effective acoustic echo cancellation, to prevent speech clipping, and to limit microphone gain during long pauses.
  • NLP&CNG to suppress residual echo and smooth comfort noise generation.
  • Anti-Howling Control to avoid annoying howling effects which are caused by acoustic feedback between a microphone and speakers.
