MediaRing goes mobile, extends contract with SPIRIT
VON Europe, Stockholm May 16, 2006 — SPIRIT DSP, the world’s leading provider of embedded voice and communication software products, announced today that MediaRing Ltd. (www.mediaring.com), the leader among pure-play VoIP telephony service providers in Asia, has extended the license agreement with SPIRIT and chosen TeamSpirit® Mobile, SPIRIT’s most recent innovative solution, to improve the softphone application designed by MediaRing for it’s mobile subscribers.
Mobile VoIP is steadily gaining recognition in the business and consumer marketplace. According to IDC, the global mobile workforce will reach 878 million mobile workers toiling away on laptops, handhelds and cell phones by 2009.
«We are happy to extend our partnership with MediaRing,» — said Slava Borilin, VoIP Product Marketing Director of SPIRIT DSP, — «Voice quality and time to market are very important, and TeamSpirit® Mobile has been developed to deliver both. What always troubles the business of a service provider is the limitations imposed by the available equipment on the potentially possible functionality. TeamSpirit® Mobile, which allows making high-quality VoIP calls from any mass-market 200 MHz smartphone, is a great business aid for the operators wishing to expand both the user reach and the market for VoIP services.»
Earlier MediaRing has already licensed advanced Voice Enhancement solution from SPIRIT for its softphone application. Now, preparing mobile solution for the customers, MediaRing has extended the contract by licensing TeamSpirit® Mobile — a product that comprises all voice components necessary to boost the VoIP applications with supreme voice quality when running on mobile devices.
TeamSpirit® Mobile accumulates more than 10 years of R&D experience in the voice processing domain and delivers sophisticated functionality with unprecedented performance characteristics. The complete package of the media engine includes optimized codecs, echo cancellation, noise suppression, and adaptive jitter buffer, all designed to secure continuous user experience. With TeamSpirit® Mobile it becomes easy to build feature-rich and easy-to-use applications, helping the end-users to quickly adopt the WiFi capabilities of their mobile devices and enjoy the benefits of VoIP communication.
